Accessing Grid View from Home

While Home  is perfect for finding and viewing records, Grid View is a separate tool that takes your current list of people and displays them in a spreadsheet-style format for easier viewing and editing.

Opening Grid View

To access this tool, click the Grid View icon in the Tool Bar.

When you select Open Gridview, the tool will open in your current browser tab, replacing your Home  view. The system will load based on two factors:
  1. Your Search Filters: It will only show the people currently appearing in your list on Home.
  2. Your Last-Used Columns: It will automatically load the specific columns you were looking at the last time you used Grid View.
Notes
Important Note: The columns in Grid View are independent of  Home. Changing which columns you see on your Home  will not change the columns inside Grid View.

Using Preset Layouts

Below the main "Open Gridview" button is a menu of Layouts. These are pre-made views created by an administrator or a staff member to help with specific tasks.

If the creator of a layout has chosen to display it on Home, you will see them listed here:
  1. Direct Access: Selecting a layout name will open Grid View immediately in your current tab using that specific set of rules.
  2. Automatic Columns: Instead of using the columns you last used, it will load the exact columns chosen by the person who created that layout.
  3. Task-Focused: This ensures you are looking at the exact information required for a specific process without having to manually pick columns yourself.

How Grid View Stays Connected

Grid View always respects the work you’ve done on Home  to narrow down your list. If you search for a specific grade or group on Home  and then open Grid View, you will only see those specific individuals in the grid. If you clear your search on  Home, the next time you open Grid View, you will see your full list again.
