Bulk Update Messages

Bulk Update Messages

The Bulk Update Messages tool allows you to broadcast an announcement to multiple user groups simultaneously. This is particularly useful for time-sensitive updates (e.g., "Term 1 Grades are due on Friday") where you need to reach everyone regardless of their specific dashboard view, without editing each configuration individually.

To access this tool, you must first select a form in the Dashboard Configuration module.

Steps to Update Messages

  1. Select the configurations to update. On the main configuration list, click the checkboxes next to the specific rows you want to broadcast the message to.

    1. Note: You can select any combination of the Default configuration and custom role-based configurations.
  2. Open the update tool. Click the Bulk Update Messages button located in the top right corner of the Action Bar.

    1. The popup will open and confirm which groups you are targeting at the top (e.g., "Updating messages for these configurations: Default, Teachers").

  3. Load existing content (Optional). If you want to base your new message on one that is already active on another view, select that configuration from the Start from an existing message dropdown.
    1. Warning: Selecting an option here will immediately overwrite any text currently written in the editor window.Compose your message. Use the rich text editor to write or modify your announcement.
  4. Compose your message. Use the rich text editor to write or modify your announcement.
  5. Save and Apply. Click Save to apply this message to all selected configurations immediately.
    1. Warning: This action will overwrite any existing messages currently saved for the selected configurations.
